krog Posted September 28, 2003 Share Posted September 28, 2003 Hello, I live in Slovakia and am desperate for help with a problem I've been having. I have been trying to play a pbem game with a friend in California but each time I load the e-mail file and then go into the game to begin placing my units,,the game freezes up after about 15 seconds??? I have sent him the file in the open and have also zipped the file. I have version 1.12 as does he. We love Cmbo overlord but have been growing frustrated with this feature. Shades Posted September 28, 2003 Share Posted September 28, 2003 Not sure if hotmail is the problem here but it has caused problems when I've sent to or received files from others using hotmail. Are your files getting to your opponent ok or just when you've receiving them? Has your opponent sent the files to you in a zipped format to cut down the size which has helped others? I start the game here in Slovakia,,set it up,,purchase my units,,then send it off to him zipped (we're using zip because batlefront.com suggested this might help) He is recieving it,,,purchasing his units and then sending it back to me. I recieve it,,,,save it to my pbem file and unzip it there. I then go into cmbo and join multiplaer,,I click on load e-mail and then click on the file from my friend. The game seems to load alright and I'm then taken to my screen where I can see my units. I have control over the cursor and my units for perhaps 15 seconds before the game freezes up,,I am able to manipulate the screen,,scroll and click on units,,,everything works fine for about 10-15 secs then freezes. Shades Posted October 1, 2003 Share Posted October 1, 2003 Have you played anybody else by PBEM with any problems? If you can play vs. the computer without any problems it shouldn't be a video problem.
