In July 1942 Smolensk finally falls. USA joins, and gets L3 Industrial Technology. Germany attacks Switzerland, which makes Franco unhappy. In Russia, I make a small counter-attack west of Moscow but otherwise wait for the Axis summer offensive to fully launch. In August the UK advances into Tripoli, bombs the Ruhr some more. UK gets L2 in IT. USA and UK lend lease convoys bumped up to max, figuring Russia may need it. Germany attacks Vichy France, gaining experience for a couple of panzers plus some extra plunder. In Russia, attacks along the line are relentless. In one turn, Germany kills off 3 corps and an army. Another Russian tank is lost. September was pause in the east, since both sides needed a chance to reinforce losses and prepare for another round. Russians did manage to make a couple of small counter-attacks toward the Dnepr in the south and out of Vologda in the north. In October I was hoping for early mud in the east but it did not happen. Germans hit hard, killing off 3 armies and knocking a HQ down to strength 1. But Russia is not out of the fight. The Red Army strikes back, trading tank kills in a battle north of Kharkov and managing to kill another corps and army. Additionally, a Finn army and German corps get cut off around Vologda. After Tobruk fell in 1941, UK had been slowly moving units east. In October 1942, things were set for an attack on Iraq and units crossed the border. US bombers arrive in Libya and start bombing the port in Albania, hoping to maybe catch an Italian fleet. UK bombers hit the Ruhr again, this time with no interceptors in sight. At this point, it's fairly clear that Allies have an edge and we have a couple of concerns. A few adjustments should help. We do have a playable game but still need to work on a few things some more.
