dmbgamer
In WaW, is the only way to supply units in enemy territory via unobstructed roads back to a capital? Having a HQ within 5 tiles does not seem to matter if the unit you are trying to supply is not on a road. Is this correct?
SeaMonkey
Count the tiles from the supply source, if you are greater number of tiles away(Mtns/swamps count for 2)then the actual supply level(% efficiency/10) of the source then your HQ supply = max 5. So if source(city or port) is at 50%, your HQ can be no more than 4 tiles away for an 8 supply rating (40% = 3 tiles...30% = 2 tiles, etc). If the source is 60% or more and you are within the dictated range then your HQ will have 10 supply rating. The units then count to the HQ using the same pattern for the source to HQ rule to obtain their expected supply level(8Hq-3 tiles away=5) and thus their readiness® and morale(M) effectiveness, (HQ attachment helps also R & M values). Simple...eh?
SeaMonkey
Oh....and road supply is hopefully on the patching table.
Big Dog
Can you still daisey-chain HQ's to extend supply? Is supply detgermined exactly the same for the North Africa or Russia scenarios? Bulge?
pzgndr
You never really could daisy chain HQs to extend supply. The only tangible benefit was that one HQ could possibly increase another HQ's supply and possibly avoid movement/reinforcement limitation. All HQs must trace their supply back to a supply resource, not another HQ. This is a game feature applicable to all campaigns.
John DiFool the 2nd
If road supply is one the table then engineers need to be able to build road and rail networks.
