PBEM

Decide beforehand between the two of you which scenario you want to play, who will play which side and other parameters (fog of war, balance, etc.). Once you've agreed to those settings one of you will need to launch the Demo > click 'Play Game' > select the scenario you want to play > select the side that you (the initiating player) want to play and set the other parameters at this screen > you'll be given four choices for how to play the game, select 'Email' > enter a password that you'll remember for the game (don't give this to your opponent, its for your use only) > the 3D screen loads up and you perform setup on your forces > click the 'Go' button > you'll be prompted with a dialog box to save your file. You will want to give it an unique name and possibly number it, such as "chance-setup", with subsequent ones being 'chance2', etc. This is so you can keep track of the turns in case something goes wrong.

This file will be saved in the PBEM directory of the directory you installed the Demo in. I suggest 'zipping' this file so it doesn't get corrupted. Send this to your opponent, who will extract it to somewhere they can find it and then launch the Demo > click on 'Join Multiplayer' > click 'Load Email' and they should be prompted from there on out and then they'll send the file they generated back to you. It takes a couple of emails to generate a 'movie file' which may be pretty big. If you're using a web-based email account you may have to erase some of the emails sitting on it to make room for these files.
