After you take Egypt... - you can attack Syria, Iraq and Iran - you get a MAYOR morale boost - you get Gibraltar, which means you can move the Italian fleet west and own the Atlantic, which make you a) stop D-Day and stop the US transfer to the USSR And last but not least : you need Cairo for an Axis mayor victory.
