Doug Beman Posted December 17, 2002 Share Posted December 17, 2002 I'm in the process of getting my new PC online (it still crashes from time to time; I think I need to make sure ALL components are fully seated) and am realizing how much stuff was on my old PC that I need to re-find. I've put on Flash and Shockwave; do I have an option regarding RealPlayer? I hate that program and the fact that, on my old PC, it consistently wormed its way back on the "run on startup" list. Is there an app that will play the basic Real file types (kinda like MSPaint can display basic images) Also, I keep getting messages that I need to download this codec or that. I know what they are and what they do, but am trying to find a repository of various codecs with a good reputation; ie I'm worried about installing a codec from any old place and picking up a virus or other nasty piece of code.
