To use them your squad shouldn´t be pinned. beeing shot reduces the chance to use the charges. Then you shouldn`t be to close to the enemy.If the unit would hurt itself they won`t use it either Oi ! Green Hornet Posted November 14, 2002 Share Posted November 14, 2002 Engineer squads use their satchel charges at their own discretion. You have no control over when they use them. By that, I mean that there is no command in CMBO that you can give your engineer squad to make them use their explosives. Usually, you will see them use the explosives to knock out a bunker or a foxhole if you get your squad close enough. The cover allows them to get close (or the enemy to them) and then at a range of about 20 meters they let them fly, as long as they are not pinned.
