What goes around, comes around... In the early war, Germans are in deep trouble with KV's smile.gif

Apart from getting mobility kills, or knockouts by 88's, there's very little that can stop a KV before the Tiger comes along.

Absolutely true. It's interesting how the advantages shift during years when both sides react to other's new equipment bringing in their own. Tiger to counter T-34 and KV...T-34/85 to counter tiger..so on.

Cheers,

Also the 57mm ATG was phased out because it was deemed superflous before the war, so when they ran out of barrels they simply had to give up on the tanks using them. When ther gun was again taken into production it was possible to make some new tanks but they were quickly made obsolete by the upcoming 85mm gun which had vastly better all-round performance.

It should also be considered that this is a speciality vehicle that is wildly at odds with soviet doctrine at the time.

I think the KV-2 probably has a chance against a Tiger - as long as it's sitting in ambush. You don't necessarily need to penetrate with that big gun. Even then, better make the first shot count.

Not that I'm even sure it's possible to get them both on the same battlefield. smile.gif
