silver-surfer57
I'd like to buy CMBB as a gift, but I'm concerned about the Mac requirements. I'm reasonably sure he has OS/X, so, according to the Battlefront site, CMBB won't work. I understand there's an emulation mode built into the Mac OS (I'm a PC owner, so I'm not familiar with Macs). Would I be able to buy him the PC version and have him run it in emulation mode? Thanks!
jeffsmith
The "Emulation" program in the Mac OS is Called "Classic" and it might run CMBB (like it did CMBO) but not very well it is simply running OS9 within OSX There is a PC emulating program for the Mac called Virtual PC but that wont run the PC Version of CMBB But the good news is Even with OSX he can run OS9 on its own (not just under Classic) and thus CMBB Find out if he uses OS9 for anything at all if he does then his playing CM will be a snap (as he already Boots into OS9 for things already) If he is using OSX exclusively its still ok its just another simple step to playing the game He simply needs to startup in OS9 which he should know how to do if not many here can help him I use OSX for everything else but CM and the minor inconvenience to boot into OS9 is well worth it to play [ December 04, 2002, 07:44 AM: Message edited by: jeffsmith ]
