Michael Dorosh
Has anyone given any consideration to hosting a Yelnya Rumble? If anyone remembers Gordon Molek's rumbles, which he adapted from his Squad Leader days, basically a number of players are assigned a small portion of the forces from a scenario, plot out their moves in an email and fire it off to a gamemaster. The gamemaster then enters all the moves and mails out the movie files. It might be dull from the German side, but wouldn't the Yelnya scenario be interesting if played like this - with each player commanding a platoon of infantry or a single tank? You could limit email communication between tanks and their platoon commander to those turns in which the tank ends "in command" for further realism.... Just thinking out loud. With a turnaround time of say two turns per week, we still wouldn't have it finished by the time the full game shipped, but might be a nice precursor to a Stalingrad based rumble, say. Perhaps if the Gamemaster also played the Germans in the Yelnya rumble, it might have some appeal??
