Londoner
Madmatt was gonna test a 5800 ultra with CMBB if I recall. For what its worth it works great for me. That's with the lastest 43.51 drivers (the first to support the FX series apparently). CMBB looks simply glorious in 1280x960, 32 bit colour @ 85hertz. I'm running windows xp pro btw. I almost didn't buy it after seeing all these problems people were having, and I certainly didn't want to use old drivers (which wouldn't have worked with the likes of IL-2 Sturmovik 2) after spending $$$.
phil stanbridge
Sounds good mate, but does the FSAA work? That was the original problem, along with the slow frame rate.
Londoner
I think so mate, excuse my ignorance, smooth edges right?
Londoner
Yea it must be working, overall CM looks much better than it did with my old GF2.

Majormauser
How did the 43.51 Drivers work? I guess you have to have a 5800 card Kuz I posted that this driver still did not work for GF 3 users
MeatEtr
Yep i got the 5800 ultra card. Took awhile to redownload the driver since my modem is crawling at 1-2kbps. I gotta uninstall the old driver which i don't know how to do. I know how to do it with Win98 but im brand new to xp. Checked nvidias site for tips but found none. Could i trouble someone for a mini-walkthrough on how to do this? Please. With sugar on top.
MeatEtr
I just went ahead and installed the 43.51 driver without uninstalling the older one. Guess what, it doesn't make a damn difference. The fps still crawls. Oh well, this thread got my hopes up. Now i know what the main purpose of my old computer will be. To play CM. Now i just gotta get a monitor for it. Until then, let the CM cravings begin.
Londoner
**** sorry to hear that meat. For instructions on installing nvidia drivers try www.guru3D There's a nice "how to" article on it. Also did you give CMBB a chance? I know it sounds odd but mine is jerky for like 10-20 secs when I load a battle. Then for no reason at all it gets nice n smooth, and stays that way.
MeatEtr
Thanks for that link Londoner. Apparently it doesn't matter much if you uninstall your previous driver. Since the new driver overwrites it all. I haven't even installed CMBO yet. Guess i'll give it a whirl. Maybe it will work with playable fps. But I doubt it. Just been trying to get CMBB to work with solid fps. Sounds like im getting somewhat of a opposite effect from what your getting. Whenever i first get in-game(after graphics load) with CMBB my fps isn't that bad. But then it gets worse and worse the more i move around.
