Tigrii
How effective are mortars and arty spotters against tanks? I have seen large-caliber against them once or twice (which mainly just damaged guns, panicked, etc.), but I am wondering about small caliber and mortars. Zarquon
Against open or very lightly armored vehicles it works *sometimes*. Don't count on it (i.e. it's mostly a waste of ammo). Never try unless you're certain there's nothing else to fire at. (My only test of this was to place a couple of CMBO open topped vehicles and fire at them with one 81mm on-board mortar each, at 200-300m. I got one direct hit that caused no damage, then I ran out of ammo)
Warmaker
If you're after medium or heavy tanks/SPGs, forget about it. Maybe, and I mean maybe, very heavy artillery (150mm or greater) may do some damage like immobilizing a tank but don't really count on it. As a matter of fact, using heavy artillery on armor is a waste, IMO. Save the artillery to blast infantry and such, not armor. That, and laying smoke.
