Kozak
After modding pretty much everything, and most recently downloading Andrew TFs SS mods, and the "3 dead t34" flash screen mod, my pause/play button has started to act up. After a turn when start is hit the counter goes to zero. But when pause/play is hit the counter goes to "60" with no action being played. Forward and back work properly in 10 second increments, but the ability to see the full 60 second movie is gone. Wierdly, all infantry also now stands bolt upright at attention, including the HMG 34 gunner, which is quite a feat of strength. Ideas ?
Schrullenhaft
It sounds like you're running into the "UPTIMER", "GETTICKCOUNT" problem. This seems to happen to Dells most often, but other brands of computers have had this problem too (Sony, Gateway, etc.). I don't know why you haven't run into before though. What happens is that the computer doesn't correctly report time via the 'gettickcount' function (that a lot of software uses apparently). Such timer oddities cause strange things to happen in playback of turns (including turns that don't play out fully or jump back-and-forth, etc.). The solution may be either to update your motherboard BIOS (though there may not be a newer version or a this problem may have never been addressed in a BIOS patch) or to reboot your computer and then let it run for a half hour or more before playing CM (this apparently lets the clock 'stabilize'). Some people had this problem specifically with WinME and some Dells. Their solution was to reinstall a clean copy of Windows (instead of the OEM install that Dell put on the computer). Here's a thread that mentions the problem. Searches on the Tech Support forum for "timer" may bring up some other useful threads.
