Its also the 3rd Parachute Division, not the Second. Frank
David Stone
Franko We are talking about two different engagements-- I think. The rush on St Lo was in July. My St Lo heading is deceiving. The battle I am looking at is near Belle Fontaine, or just NE of it--in June. It is the opening chapter of Johns' book. Although, I am not sure which German Parachute Division it is-- Johns' book says 2nd. Inconclusive considering it is styled more as a 1st person novel rather than a historical text. Unfortunately, I haven't done any other research to clarify German units. I guess your scenario deals with the advance down the Isgny-St Lo road area???
