FUBAR'D
Hi, Can someone please explain the relationship between commanders and arty spotters. Is there any special relationship? Is it confined to Company COs? Had a quick glance in the manual - couldn't see anything. Thanks.
Gyrene
I think they would get whatever leadership bonuses the CO unit has. Gyrene
Dunnee
A good commander, Lt. to Btn. co, in CM is worth his weight in gold to an arty spotter. Command bonuses weigh heavily on the spotter's combat capability, time until strike, accuracy, spread of shots, etc. is all affected if you have a commander in C&C of a spotter. Michael Emrys
That's interesting to know. I hadn't noticed this, but I hadn't rigorously tested for it either. Michael

Schugger
From my experiance HQ boni do not have any effect on the time delay for spotters to call in artillery.
Ron
Yeah having HQs affecting an FO's ability to call in fire, accuracy etc sounds reasonable but in CM it doesn't happen at all. The HQs relationsip to an FO is like any other, ie movement order delay, stealth, morale under fire. FO's call in fire, with some variability, the same regardless if they are in C&C or not. Dunnee
you're right, the time it takes for the arty to land isn't affected, but I could have sworn that accuracy is effected. . .
