Sgt Homer Posted June 5, 2001 Posted June 5, 2001 I am midway through creating my first serious scenario. It is based upon accounts and maps from an engagement featuring the 1st Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment. I have two questions: 1} What is a'Nebelwerfer'? 2}Is there a way to ensure that reinforcements arrive riding on tanks/trucks? Thanks, Sgt Homer null
KnifeForkSpoon Posted June 5, 2001 Posted June 5, 2001 1} What is a'Nebelwerfer'? German Rocket artillery (nasty stuff!) 2}Is there a way to ensure that reinforcements arrive riding on tanks/trucks? I've only made one scenario where troops arrive with trucks/vehicles and it seems to me the A.I. just picks which units are mounted and which are not. There was no parameter in the scenario design that specified mounted/unmounted reinforcements. Hope that helps. KFS
GonzoAttacker Posted June 6, 2001 Posted June 6, 2001 You have the answer to question one.. Here is what I do to test... on a blank map set up with like a german sharpshooter behind an embankment... Then on turn two have your reiforcments arrive as you will have them in your final scenario, and practice til you get what you want to happen on your real map... this will always help you develop how reiforcements will hit the map, and you learn how they arrive on map you will no longer have to do this.. It takes a lot of practice to get this right.. Michael "Gonzo" Gonzalez
Sgt Homer Posted June 6, 2001 Author Posted June 6, 2001 Ah, thanks for that tip GonzoAttacker, I will try that.
boy_Recon Posted June 10, 2001 Posted June 10, 2001 "nebelwerefer" means "fogthrower" in German, as the multibarrelled rocket launchers were originally designed to lay down smoke screens. getting the AI to do what you want it to is a real swine.
