xerxes Posted November 16, 2002 Share Posted November 16, 2002 I've been reading some accounts of Steppe fighting and the striking thing is how good the grass was for hiding infantry. Well deployed infantry was practically invisible until you were right on top of them. Not so for tanks naturally. In some accounts tanks were seen as nearly useless in clearing a heavy grass defence, only infantry up close could to the job. It seems that steppe grass should offer MUCH better concealment.
