They carry 2 MG42, but the firepower is something like this for the LMGs (don't remember exactly): 40 m: 40 100 m: 70 Squads with only 1 LMG show a firepower of 50 at 40m for the MG42. flamingknives Posted July 9, 2002 Share Posted July 9, 2002 This is to model how the squad fights. The LMGs have a two man crew, a gunner and a loader. The loader, as his name suggests, feeds ammunition to the gun. In most squads, he carries a K98, and is most useful feedig the gun, keeping it's rate of fire (and therefore firepower) up. However, when he has a SMG, at close range, he is better off using it rather than feeding the gun, so you get the firepower drop off at close range for the LMG.
