TwoSheds
i thought i read somewhere you could preview a map in a QB as you are purchasing units. the terrain is an important factor in deciding Force composition.

Michael Emrys
Nope. No preview in QBs. It would be nice to have though and it's been asked for. Michael
Vanir Ausf B
Good lord, NO! Previewing the map would ruin QBs by allowing the players to cherry pick their forces to the exact characteristics of the map. If you want to do that you can import a pre-made map into a QB now. The heart of the QB is to pick a force without knowing exactly under what conditions it will be used (though you may have a general idea), and to use that force in whatever circumstances fate decrees better than your opponent. Monty's Double
I'm with Vanir. You can effectively do it simply by randomly generating a map in the scenario editor, saving it and importing it in a QB. Similarly, you can wear your underpants on your head, they just don't perform any useful function, and you'll get funny looks from passers-by. Scipio
Why not just both??? Make it optional. The map is already generated when the purchase can be done. There's is only a small switch needed in the QB setup, labeled 'ALLOW MAP PREVIEW', and another switch on the purchase screen 'Show Map'. I really don't understand why people start wars about the simpliest things instead to ask for the simpliest solution...

Beside that, there is the fact that it is already an option. [ October 10, 2002, 12:28 PM: Message edited by: Vanir Ausf B ]
