konstantine Posted April 8, 2006 Share Posted April 8, 2006 I have had CMBB installed since it first came out, and now it starts up without sound. No opening music, no toggle sounds, no sounds in game. This has been happening intermittently until now, and now I can't get it to start with sound at all, even after restarting my computer. I am running Windows XP Home on a Dell with 1 gig RAM and a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz. I have nothing but the factory piece of crap sound card installed, however all other programs work fine (Itunes, DropTeam, etc.) so I don't think that's necessarily the problem. One weird thing I noticed is that all the WAV files for CMBB now have the Windows Media Player icon--but when I try to play them standalone it says Windows Media doesn't have the required codec. Is that a clue or is it irrelevant? My computer does currently automatically play all media (sound and movies) with Windows Media, which irritates me but I don't know how to change this, as I prefer I tunes for music and VLC player for movies/tv. edit: for clarity, plus it only affects CMBB. junk2drive Posted April 8, 2006 Share Posted April 8, 2006 Go into any battle or autosave. After the screen loads hit shift + S At the top of the screen it will say Sound On or Sound Off.
