pmiranda
Hello comrades! I've bought the CDV version of CMBB and the manual doesn't give much information about the effects of advance / assault. It just says that troops using advance / assault are supposed to be slower than running units, but they make use of available cover and suppressive fire. Does that mean that advance / assault is useless in open ground? Which terrain gives a defensive bonus for units using advance / assault? What about this "suppressive fire" stuff? Does it mean that it lessens the risk of incoming defensive fire? Is ammo expended? Does one have to target a specific area? Is there any other benefit of using this type of movement? By the way, I've seen references to a 1.1 patch, but I haven't seen any patch on this website. What does that mean? Thanks!
Soddball
Have a quick look in the FAQ thread on this page and see if that answers your questions about the movement orders. There is a section in the FAQ which will help. The first patch has not been released yet.
