Did they not make it into the game?Yes. Cliffs and slopes occur when the terrain height between two adjacent tiles exceeds a certain number. To see this, go into the scearnio editor and set the height of a single tile for 15 (default is 7 -- use the +/- keys to increase or decrease height). Preview the map. You now have cliffs.
