Paul Atreides
Oh god, I just hope this is a common problem... When I load CMAK, the program starts up, but then in the main menu automatically minimalizes into the task bar. I don't know if this has something to do with it, but the last time we (my brother) played the game, he used the windows button to exit the game while the "blue bar" was loading, and then used Alt+Control+Delete to shut the game down. Some help please?
Sweed
So if you double click on it in the task bar it doesn't come back up on the screen? If not I'd just make backups of your save game folder and pbem folders and uninstall and then reinstall the game. Then cut and copy your backup folders into the game where they were before. I'm not a computer expert but this seems the easiest way to me.
Paul Atreides
Thanks I'll try that. If I double click on it in the task bar it DOES come back on the screen, but then automatically minimalizes itself again.
Schrullenhaft
Which Windows version are you using ? I don't think that what your brother did could cause this sort of problem. In my opinion it would only corrupt the save file of the scenario he was playing, but I would concede that it is possible he may have corrupted the game executable. However this would probably result in CMAK not starting at all and giving you a 'blue-screen' error. If you do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and look at the Task Manager, what is running (Applications & Processes if you're running Win2K or XP) ? I'd suggest making sure every possible program/process has been closed. If you have any antivirus or spyware checkers, I'd suggest you run them. Run a scandisk/CHKDSK on your hard drive to see if there are any file system problems.
Paul Atreides
Thanks for your help. I followed your instructions, and after that I rebooted my computer, and the program works again. Again, thank you.
