HVAP
Hi all I was defragging my HD and then all of a sudden I BSOD and now bios does not see my 2 HDs I'm running an MSI K series with an Athlon XP chip. Anyone got any words of wisdom to help me out? (PS I also have posted this in the general forum)
Schrullenhaft
If your BIOS can no longer detect your hard drives (and I mean by checking in your CMOS/BIOS Setup), then you're most likely out of luck. Either your motherboard is bad (IDE controller / Southbridge chip has become defective) or your hard drives are bad. Can the BIOS detect any other IDE devices like your CD/DVD drive ? If it can then your hard drives have died. I'm not sure which case is more likely - the motherboard's IDE controller going out or two hard drives going out (which could be the fault of the power supply).
HVAP
well now bios can now find them both (in the setup) I disabled the 123 boot order and it booted into XP but the comp still looked for a boot with the A and CDs. ANy clue why this would occur during a defrag?
