Euri
I read somewhere that if you set a cover arc and give a move to contact order then the unit executing the order will only stop (a) when enemy is spotted in the arc and ( if fired upon Can someone confirm that it is so? Because I am trying to implement it and it does not seem to work. Unit stops upon spotting an enemy which is out of the arc. Also, for AFV what is the difference between MTC and HUNT? Thanx
Bone_Vulture
I can answer the latter question. MTC makes your AFV stop as soon as it spots a new enemy. Depending on the threat, the AFV might open fire, or hit the reverse to get out of harm's way. Either way, all movement commands are cancelled the moment an enemy is spotted. With hunt command, the AFV will stop and fire if it spots new threats, and actively crawl towards the destination designated by the hunt command if it loses LOS to the target, or manages to destroy it.

HE rounds falling anywhere in the vicinity or a burst of MG fire passing through will cause the troops to stop though. ISTR that it was an upgrade in one of the patches, so if you don't have 1.03 it may not be in there (although I think that it was implemented in 1.02)
xerxes
From what I've seen it's not precise, more probabilistic. Covered arcs seem to get the unit to ignore stuff outside the arc but it's not 100%.
88mm
Xerses is very right. Imagine a enemy tank is sneaking at you, just out of the arc. The squad seems it and recognise a serious treath. A wise guy in the Squuad notice that the turret is turnin and turnin' ; ehm cpl. don't mind it, but that 20 ton thing overthere just out of the arc seems to point at us. Can we take a brake, plzzzz.
