Tifosi
lol junk2drive to the rescue again! I only ask because I downloaded MadDog 1 & 2 from cmhq and the instruction was to download and copy to bmp file. the winter uniforms only appear when it snows but I dont have to mess around with a manager. Not being the most techie minded feller in the world I like to double check these things at the risk of appearing to be a touch dim. Think I might be getting the hang of it now though, but thanks again for all your help!
junk2drive
The games do not come with winter mods. The first time you copy the winter bmps into your bmp folder, there is nothing there to "mess up". The next time, however, you may overwrite something you didn't want to. If you have an ambush camo mod with some snow on the roof and copy over it with a whitewash, you have lost the ambush mod. As long as you have the ambush zip file, you could unzip it over the whitewash. A mod manager just helps you keep track of all those zips. Making more sense now?
junk2drive
BTW, some mods are historical for a particular region. If patboy adds company or division numbers to halftracks for the Ukraine, but that division never saw Finland, you wouldn't want to use that mod in a Finland battle. Just an example off the top of my head.
Tifosi
Yep. Now as soon as I figure out what the exact function of the rulesets is, I'm sorted! (hint hint) As I understand it mods are grouped together under rulesets, so choosing a ruleset will put all associated mods into the scenario. Am I even close here? lol
junk2drive
CMMOS is not my forte. MikeT is best to ask for help. There is a tutorial for CMMOS at CMHQ, let me know if you cannot find it.

junk2drive
Didn't tooz just have a thread on that one? It shares bmps with something else?
Tifosi
I searched, all I found was a summer one with a flag draped over it. No matter - I'm sure I d/l'd enough to keep me going for now!

Tifosi
That's the one abbreviation I must have not put into the search engine! D'oh. I don't think I will be sending unsolicited email looking for a mod though.... Still, I can always hope that the author is identified eventually, huh? Thanks (again! ) for the link though.

Its an option
