Sivodsi
This has probably been covered before, but have just experienced the frustration of successfully having a tiger come within 45 metres of my 45mm AT gun only to find the 5 rounds of AP fired by the vet crew bounce off various parts of the tank. Why didn't they use the two tungsten shots they had? Also, when you see the chance of kill, does that include the chance of kill if tungsten is used, or is it only for AP rounds?
flamingknives
I think that the kill chance does account for tungsten. If the Tiger was at an angle to the gun, it might be that this made it impossible to penetrate with tungsten (e.g. if the gun is 30 degrees off the Tigers bow, then the front plate is roughly at 30 degrees, but the side is at 60 degrees.) In such a case, the gun may fire in the hope of gun or track damage, saving the tungsten for a better shot.
