TPG Down?

Recommended Posts

I just tried posting the following at TPG, but it's not taking:

I just got home from San Antonio where we left a car that has lost it's transmission. The site was down this morning when I tried it, but there was nothing that I could do - we were getting ready to get on the road. I wish'd I'd of stayed home now. Transmissions ain't cheap....

If anyone here is a auto-repair specialist (transmissions especially), I'd like to run some of these costs that the guy is saying it will be - at this point just to rip out the transmission to see what broke. External diagnostics (i.e., computer chip simple stuff) showed that it's in the transmission.

So, crappy day all around....

So, something still isn't 100% correct. I'll try reaching my webhost to see if he can have a look at the databases.

Yeah, it's going to wipe out our down on a new house - delaying that for the time being.

Just got word from my webhost, he's aware of the situation and has been working on that box all day long. It's basically fubar'd. So, he's going to spend the weekend moving all of the sites over to a new box - so we'll have intermittent up/down time over the weekend.

I have the site backed up as it exists now, so very little, if anything will be lost.

Good luck all around Gary.

Transmissions are expensive... yup. Wiped out my saving account once when I was right out of college. At that time I thought I had a lot of dough and was ready to chill for a while... no, someone had a different plan.

My advice would be to take it to a national chain... in case you have trouble later, you may be able to bring it back to another location.

Thanks Bannon, it's at an AAMCO now and I think that I'm just going to have them repair it. The quote that they gave me is the same or even lower than some local shops here, plus they have financing available. ;)

Still waiting on TPG to come up, I haven't heard any word on the status of that as of yet.

Must be taking a little longer than was thought earlier. Saw a post from GJK on one of the other forums from around noontime where he said it should be up soon. Must admit I was a little worried the other day when the sight would not come up.

I brought up a couple of CM websites link lists today out of boredom and started clicking on the CM websites listed there. I would say a good 2/3rds of them were defunct. I hope we don't lose any more :( I know this game is not the latest and greatest of computer games anymore but I still think it is head and shoulders above anything else in this genre. smile.gif
