rexford
The British BIOS report brings to light an interesting aspect of the German penetration figures for 37mm guns. While the U.S. and British based most of their penetration data on a 50% success rate, the Germans required that ten straight 37mm hits penetrate within a narrow velocity band. This means that the actual penetration for 37mm guns at 50% success would be about 21% higher than the listed figures (see books by Jentz or Chamberlain) at 30 degrees, and about 28% higher at 0 degrees. Sigurd
so you're saying the usual penetration values in the litterature , for the german 37mm, (and thus these used inside CMBB) are 20% too small ? Or are you just talking about the internal way for the germans to mesure their gun's penetration abilities ? Any über-pak-grog out there ?
Dschugaschwili
He's saying that US/British and German penetration figures are calculated in a different way, so they are not comparable. In order to compare the different figures, you would have to add about 20% to the German data (even more for vertical hits).
