moosh
i have had this happen three times now, i have version 1.2, and every time i delete all my old saved games its sends files to the recycle bin that the game needs to launch , i dont remember which ones but iam sure i can get it to do it again, after i restore all the files from the bin the game works fine and all my old games are gone.i have not heard anyone else having this problem, let me know if you need more info thanks keep up the good work
Hubert Cater
What method are you using to delete the files? Is this within the game itself or via 'My Computer' etc. If you delete only the SAVE or PBEM folders than this will have no other affect on the game itself and will launch properly. Hope this helps, Hubert
moosh
i delete them from the game its self , i go to load a game, and delete them. i have not tried to play the game after doing this, i have always just quit the game, then the next time i try to play it i find the files needed to launch it in the recycle bin, hope this makes sense !!
Hubert Cater
Sorry this is about as 'clear as mud' for me right now What files are needed to play the game? and what files end up in the recycle bin? Hubert
moosh
sorry for the delay but i wanted to get all my facts ready it has done it again and the error box that comes up is a " Core File Error", now i have 2.2 mb of files in my recycle bin and the game will not launch at all, this is after i have deleted my recent games and restarted my pc, allmost all the files in my bin are "dmp" files there are a few others 166 files total are getting dumped into the bin all from the game , (the bin was empty before this) let me know what else you need and i will try and help however i can Thanks
Hubert Cater
OK this is strange, let me just make sure that I got this straight. You are saying that you launch the game and then when you select for example the 'Load Saved Game' button and then highlight a saved game and select the 'Delete' button it actually deletes core files from the game also and places them in your recycle bin? If this is correct, can you please tell me what OS you are using and I'll see what I can do to track it down. In the meantime I would suggest that you do not use this method to delete files and rather do it manually using 'My Computer' Hubert
moosh
iam using win 98 , it seems to be sending them to the recycle bin after i restart my computer ,i can only get it to do it after restarting. i am still using v 1.2. iam on a 700 mhz athlon, 256 ram and a 32 mb nvidia geforce 2 , fyi , the game plays flawless, i just have to restore the files after i delete saved games
Hubert Cater
That's really weird, if it is sending them to your recycle bin after you restart your computer. To be honest I doubt that's game related as there is nothing remotely close in my code to perform that type of operation. Just taking a wild stab here but could it be a virus? Anyone else have this problem? Hubert

Hubert Cater
OK, sorry I can't be of more help but glad to hear that you've got a workaround that works on your system. Very glad to hear you are enjoying the game as well Hubert
