Oak
In a recent game, Canada was empty with its corp and army in Iraq. Germany snuck a corp into Canada and took the capital, city and mine. However, Canada did not surrender because its land forces were intact in Iraq. Does this mean the Allied player can leave Canada empty and send the Canadian forces to England, Iraq, etc. knowing that a sneak move into Canada will only result in the US joining without Canada surrendering? Terif
No, this was luck. It is random how much units have to be destroyed before a country surrenders. But each turn there is a chance that it will surrender. So you only have to wait some turns before Canada will surrender. Depends on your luck how long it takes. Normally you can leave Canada empty until some turns before USA would join. Usually if your opponent lands in Canada too early it is a big fault from him and you can be happy (USA enter immediately). Oak
I was very lucky (the USA joined immediately) and my opponent was unlucky (he controlled Canada for 3 moves until the USA invaded and retook control.
xwormwood
I learned a nice move from Terif: after the US war-entry the allied player sold one of the US research chits and had this way enough money to liberate Canada in the same first US turn...
