zappsweden
Turn 1: Axis invade Poland. Axis subs raiding the Atlantic. Wait a minute. What about Denmark? Axis attacks LC! Denmark still neutral. No direct attacks on LC units just Axis occupying LC land and improving position.
jon_j_rambo
Turn #1 --- Zapp didn't appreciate my LC-gambit of Turn #1 last game, he invades LC & is dictating policy. LC forces will defend their own capital, why risk mine.
zappsweden
Turn 2: French army killed in LC. In Poland fight goes on. [ June 29, 2003, 04:33 PM: Message edited by: zappsweden ]
jon_j_rambo
Turn #2, Oct. 15, 1939 --- Axis trash a French Army South of Brussels. Zapp has accomplished his goal of getting across the Rhine with Axis turn #1 LC-gambit. LC forces hold Brussels along with the Rhine River spot NorthEast of the capital. French & UK begin building their forces & the usual sub hunt is on in the Atlantic. Poles are alive, but not much longer.
zappsweden
Turn 3: Warsawa holding in Poland. This turn a french corps was the victim. Silence in the Atlantic.
jon_j_rambo
I pull a typical Rambo gamble move. Everybody attacks in the West: Polish fighter 2 UK fighters 2 Carriers 5 ground attacks All against German Army South of Brussels. No dice, I can't get the kill. Down to strength 1, is the German Army. I send every unit into the Rhine River to surround that Army & a Panzer. zappsweden
Axis capitulated. I was surrounded in the Ardenner areas. This game style was indeed narrow. Axis must do everything right to succeed. Combined with huge bidding, Allies took the skies.
jon_j_rambo
Dec. 1939 --- My gamble pays off, I cut off those 2 VERY strong Axis ground units. Both are killed this turn. I had no choice but to take the risk. If I stay where I was, I'd lose a unit a turn.
