New Off-Topic SC-SC2 BF Forum & linked Wargame Website.

This Topic was started after Firebase Bastogne was withdrawn.

Martin has since repeated an offer he made earlier regarding an off-topic Battle Front Forum for SC and SC2.

I would also be willing to set up a linked website for all other war games -- but also including SC/SC2 discussions, of course.

If you're interested in any of these things please mention it in this Thread.

The Original Post:

With Firebase Bastogne defunct and Sarge's withdrawn there is no longer a website for Strategic Command buffs to post off topic threads and to write AARs that would be too outlandish for this official Battle Front site.

If there's enough interest in such a site I'll set it up. It would work in conjuction with The Writing Club. In other words, there would be no game discussions at TWC and this new site would have nothing but game discussions and AARs. Members would be free to participate either or both sites.

Those who would be interested in such a site are asked to state it in this thread. If a dozen or so members are interested I'll set the site up. If not there's no point in doing so.

Excellent. This is copied over from the companion Thread at the SC2 Forum.

I would like that, and would be willing to help out, but somehow I think it is a bit early...

Anyway , if you decide to do this let me know.

I'll repeat an offer I have made a while ago. If you guys want an off-topic thread here and in the other SC forum along the lines of the Peng or Waffles threads, go ahead. Provided that off-topic posts remain in that one thread and that a new one is started after 300 posts, and that things don't get out of hand, and no excessive image posting, and... and... and...

Martin,

That would be great.

I think Martin is making an excellent offer for an off-topic SC/SC2 Forum.

If there's enough interest in an additional site that would not be specific to any one wargame, then I'll set that one up in conjuction with the The Writing Club and will keep links open to Martin's BF SC/SC2 Forum.

That way members can move around between the two and remain linked and part of this, the homebase.

As I said, I think the above idea would keep everyone happy and Martin's new Forum would be great for SC and SC2. smile.gif

Agreed.

The lines I'm thinking of would work as a link with what Martin, hopefully, will be setting up for SC and SC2. That would be an area where people can play the game and write AARs and be Battle Front oriented even if off-topic, which they wouldn't need to worry about.

That would be a new BF Forum.

The Website I'm thinking about setting up would be divided into numerous forums where members could discuss any game and can also write AARs for any game they choose to play, be it monopoly, scrabble, CM, SC, chess or anything else.

That would be a true Game Website. And I'd link Matin's SC / SC2 Forum into it.

The reason I'm posting all this here is because I think it's a good place for people who would like to see Martin's SC/SC2 Forum to be able to come out and say they'd like to have it set up.

I've decided to set up that game website as well.

I believe Martin's Forum is an extremely good idea and am all for it. smile.gif

Sorry Semiworth, you're obviously trying to subvert our freedom of expression in hopes of sustaining your power. We Americans are on to any subliminal manipulations of our opinions disguised as socialism when in actuality they are nothing but overt communistic aspirations. Your going to have to get up a little earlier in the morning to put one over on us cowboys, G.W. Bush wouldn't fall for it and neither am I. A resounding "YES" vote am I.
