Poland retreat gambit - worth the effort?

Ive thought a lot about the Polish campaign. Since Ive learned the latest opening moves the polish war seem to be totally pointless and even the allies want it to stop qúickly to avoid to train axis experience.

So one thing you could try is the polish retreat gambit. It´s a move that play the odds and depend on pure luck.

The axis will move against your armies and surround your western defences wuickly. IF they are fairly successful you could try this;

Move like follows;

Polish airforce to hex 44,10

Modlin corps to hex 40,12

Warsaw corps to hex 43,10

Move least damage corps to warsaw.

Of course this can be done in many ways.

This will barricade your forces in the northeast corner of Poland where axis just can reach them from to hexes, of which one is swampy. This is playing the odds to a maximum, after warsaw falls(probably turn 3) you have 50% chance of Poland fighting on. Approxamately you have 20-30% chance to survive to turn 5.

The benefits are obvious;

- Axis still must divert troops to fight you long from supply.

- Axis experience will not increase so much which will help you in Russia.

try it out if you likes to gamble. If Poland surrenders turn 3 or turn 4 it means nothing as I see it.
