Carl G. E. von Mannerheim
A recent email from one of the people involved in the Recent SC Christmas tournament informed me that I have a virus in my machine. The file is named jdbgmgr.exe (java developer debugger manager) Now, Upon further investigation, using this URL, this virus appears to be a hoax. It is a file already on most machines which have java installed. The purpose of the 'virus' is to get you to delete a legitimant MS Window$ component. If you have already deleted it, do not worry please read the information on the URL given. Thanks Dad! CvM
J P Wagner
Considering the court case between Microsoft and Sun concerning Java, one wonders if it's only a coincidence.... http://java.sun.com/lawsuit/
Les the Sarge 9-1b
There is really only one virus message that most should read. Update your anti virus, and actually use an anti virus program. After sooooo many years of computing, and I have to date only encountered two instances where I got stuck with a virus I was unaware of. And in both cases it was with a file I had downloaded. I never open emails that I can't recognise, and I never forward anything ever (nothing zip nada, although it seems people actually mass forward stuff all the time). ALthered
Yes,i use Norton Anti virus, which is very good.It is easy to use, updates itself regularly and immediately intercepts any malicious code.It also allows you to scan any d/loads quickly. Carl G. E. von Mannerheim
This 'virus' said was undetectable by Norten. At least it turned out to be a hoax.
