Creating A MOD

Damm i recieved so much fun when i got the game strategic command ( it was almost imposible to get it in my country) .

I have played the game out several times and now i am planning on making a mod .

and here comes the qeustion . How can i increase decrease any of the stats (soldiers tanks and so on )

Or how to change the map itself .

Now i have seen some posts on this forum telling about its illigal to crack the codes or somethink .But aint modding all about that .?

And plz if you can help me tell me wich programmes i could use the best .

Note: I aint going to use any of the codes or whatever for commurcial use couse i cant even create a game or whatever

Note again : SC is a great great addictive game very nice work and plz help me

you are doomed to the limitations of the editor, just like the rest of us.

just one more thing.

I have been busy with modding the graphics and i have done a nice job so far .

i will post it on the forum once it is ready.

But there is one problem when i change several things i get an error when i start the game with the new files .

The error ses it cant register an DLL file and that i need to do it manualy . and it ses that i alsow could disable the directX in the INI file (by putting the 1 to 0 ) but then i get an unkown system error ,so i have to reinstalle the game ,if anyone knows wy it happens plz tell me

RG, it depends what "several things" you're trying to change. Your graphic mods are restricted to altering bitmaps...and there are enough .bmps to keep you going along time. Just remember not to alter the resolutions as this causes all sorts of grief. But seamonkey is correct on the point re editor. All I can suggest is that you keep playing SC1 on max AI settings and hold your breath for the arrival of SC2. (I look forward to seeing your mod posted here!)
