Kewilpee Posted May 27, 2002 Share Posted May 27, 2002 I have seen many posts about how the German navy is poor and German subs not being effective. I disagree. After the fall of France the ports in the atlantic are great for the subs. After building two subs there, the UK AI then had to search for them(fog of war on) thus drawing them away from Norway region and the German battle groups them were able to come out in to the Atlantic. All the while I was using the ports to repair. I also stationed 2 fighters in the Normandy region as air cover. When one of the subs got jumped it took a hit but ran back to port. Then the Germany surface ships w/ the aircover pounced on the sole British ship that made contact. The British Navy took a beating and with just 3 subs rotating in and out of port, the UK was losing on AVERAGE of 15 MPP's per turn. With the fog of war the German's have a fighting chance. And I bet of the demo was longer, I could have built the Germany Navy up more so that the US would have some trouble coming across the pond.
