jon_j_rambo
I gambled bad last game w/ "Ardenne's Gambit". It's risky, but the Poland not surrender was ballgame. NEW GAME: Sept '39 - 1) I come in strong this time against Poland, use one Luftwaffen to break the front line. German forces positioned for Warsaw on turn #2. It's fun to try new stuff, but I want Poland out quickly. Using the extra air, may prohibit turn #2 LC attack. I'm thing whether I'll do that or wait until turn #3. 2) Subs raid 3) Western units position, but only 2-Luftwaffen 4) Denmark pinged.
jon_j_rambo
Oct '39 [turn #2] - 1) Polish are pounded. HQ takes Warsaw, there won't being any crap this game. Poland surrenders, that is good! Something is strange w/ the surrender rules. 2) In the West, all is quiet, except for a Luftwaffen air raid on the French mine. 3) Denmark pinged 4) subs run 5) Irish reinforced
jon_j_rambo
Novemeber '39 [turn #3]- 1) LC got mowed over like the yard. Nothing but dead clippings. 2) With the good ground combat against Brussels, along with no RAF in site, Panzer units push West. We do NOT attack the Ardennes this time, that can be a bitch sometimes, like last game. Double Panzers plus 1-Luftwaffen reduce the Frenc Army to strength-2 in the "First Blood" hex. 3) subs are done 4) Denmark pinged 5) Operanded every swing Nazi from Poland. zappsweden
Turn 2: Axis did not attack LC, neither did us Allies. We dig in at the border. German Atlantic subs are sinking.
jon_j_rambo
Turn #4 --- 1) subs are history 2) French are missing an Army 3) Denmark pinged 4) Manstein enters the game French are using the "Stuff w/ corps" defense.
jon_j_rambo
[turn #5] - 1) No kills this turn, French HQ attacked w/ 2-air, only 1-hit. RAF intercepts from London. 2) Denmark pinged 3) New Luftwaffen placed in Brussels.
jon_j_rambo
March '40 - 1) Western Ardennes attacked 3-directional, one Army of mine down to strength-4, out of position. I had to get the kill. 2-Luftwaffen used in this turn are intercepted by the RAF. So I conduct a Luftwaffen attack on the RAF. Lets see if he sticks around. 2) Denmark pinged & finally they surrendering. Ships got a little experience, & now I have the cash to fix some of my 4-Luftwaffen units. zappsweden
March 1940: The "First Blood Hex" (NW of the French Forrest hex) did not get its name for nothing. German weakened army gets destroyed there by Allied counter. [ November 15, 2003, 03:39 PM: Message edited by: zappsweden ]
jon_j_rambo
I just saw the biggest combat air intercept joke EVER, Mansteins's Luftwaffen intercepts & is taken to strength-5.
jon_j_rambo
Tough times for my Air, so I send in the Navy. There's a shootout NorthEast of the LC. 3 Dead UK ships, 1 Dead German das U-Boot. German cruiser runs back behind Denmark & is being chased by a damaged Frenchy. Other German ship is reinforced to strength-11 in Port of Brussells.
jon_j_rambo
June '40 - Another 2-UK ships sunk. German cruiser in Brussells slugs it out locally, both take a huge 5-damage. Other cruiser in home Port. On the ground the Panzers have been picking off corps. Ireland is becoming a sad site, seeing those carriers get trained. zappsweden
Allies only have 6 navy units left (3 of them are carries). The Allied navy was used to battles Axis navy outside LC but Luftwaffe supported Axis. It killed alot of Allied navy but also distracted Luftwaffe from supporting the France battles. jon_j_rambo
July '40 - German ground forces finally touch the outside of Paris, Italy joins. Another UK warship killed West of Brussells port.
jon_j_rambo
August '40 - Zapp is throwing everything at me. 3rd RAF fighter on the scene & the carriers have moved into the channel. He's minus 6-ships, so as usually, it's air. Luftwaffen is moved to the South, out of direct attack range of the UK, but able to hit Paris & intercept the ground. Italians take Malta & are moving on Egypt. The also have Southern France.
jon_j_rambo
I'm done, I can't beat a guy who dishes out 5 hits of damage EVERY intercept. I don't get it. He claims he has Monty 1-star, big deal, I have Manstein 2-stars. 2-RAF fighters held off 4-Luftwaffen & the entire German Army.

zappsweden
Read the new topic on "AA INTERCEPTION BUG". You were right Rambo, there was something strange. By the way, I did not know about it when we played. I tested it in a Hotseat after our game (with FOW off so I could confirm the results easily).
