Joe Grills
I have been playing board wargames since 1975, and computer wargames since 1994. Strategic Command is the finest wargame I have ever played. It's not perfect, and I commend the designer for staying with his design, but it has all the major elements in an ETO Grand Strategic Game. I attempted to play Hearts of Iron, and felt as if I were reading the rules to SPI's late, lamented Campaign For North Africa! I attempted to play corps and divisional level scenarios on the ETO with Talonsoft's Century of Warfare, and felt that I was just moving counters around, But armed with my own knowledge of history, I started playing, and winning Strategic Command almost immediately. To put it mildly, playing Strategic Command is the most fun I've ever at with my clothes on! Joe Grills
Iron Ranger
Joe - join the IP/TPC group and play HvsH and you'll really enjoy the flexabilty of the game. Just realize that the AI is quite predictable comparied to a human player and you'll lose (and learn) alot in your first few games.
