The secret of HDO and DAI

Well as promised i will describe the final tactic vs RAI and ZAS after playing best of 7 series ag ZAPP.

For HDO (Helldragonopening)i just copy paste what Hellraiser wrote to our common tactic. Its an opening in poland which anybody should be familar.

Posted from Hellraiser--->

Yeah, this 'HDO' is basically a tweak of DH's old northern opening, in response to RAI or any other aggro allied openings.

Instead of aiming to kill the northern polish army, the tweak is to kill the corps below it and get 3 (or if u use a second tank) 4 hexes near Warsaw for turn 2. It is less powerful than the standard breakthru attempt but it works 90+ of the times because, if needed, axis will use an air fleet which will be used as well for warsaw in turn 2 if needed.

The good part is that you have Runnie leading the LC attack in turn 2 (supports tank, army, corps+2 AF or 3 AF, tank, corps) - the odds will be better on ground (tank and army supported by Mr. R. have 0-4 vs LC corps instead of 0-3 when supported by Von Suck - a lot of times axis will use only 1 air or 0...well they can still fail, ofc )

Under this opening, warsaw garrison will fall in turn 2, 95% of the times, because it gets down to 8-9 during the first turn already and axis have heavy **** attacking + 1 air if needed.

End of post

As answer vs aggro allied defence (RAI) i additonal developped DAI (Dragonheart all in) which together with HDO is the final strategy vs RAI. I proved this in my best of 7 series ag zapp. (4:1) Since using additonal DAI it was even 4:0 as in the first game i was not using it.

Short description

-As sometimes allies sacrify units and even ships to afford RAI i do the same ---> i buy manstein and keep up to 5 AF´s and sell all not essential units.

Essential are 2 tanks,3 Armies, 1-2 corps and air for sure. Sometimes i even sack Van Bock. --->But this is the hardcore version of DAI, sometimes with good plunder you can keep Van Bock but never ever let him lead the AF´s except in round 3.

-subs running east to kill engl ships as sometimes french navy sails to baltic.

-After taking warsaw and LC (round2) rundstet moves on the riverhex near bruessels, and Van Suck to Berlin. --->This gives Axis the possiblity for an early breakthrough as rundstet commands all ground units westwards and van Bock takes command of all remaining units (Air) in the west.

-Rundstet will get 3 or even 4 allied Airhits though but this has also its bright side as he will get 1 star which is fine for the following attacks

-The sniffercorps is no prob i found a way to block all movement for it without using additional stuff

-In Round 3 (breakthroughround) tank+army+3AF (2 if one used to kill warsaw corps) attack blood hex when corps southwest of bruessels has survived --->they will get intercepted but from untrained carriers ;) If you are lucky french army is even down to 8 or 9 by attacking the corps southwest of bruessels.

-Priority is Bloodhex not ardennen wood as with low strengh air the losses are to high and the odds are bad for a breakthrough at early stage.

-Dont play chicken, whenever you have the chance to engage enemy air then do it ---> when allies harm my air i harm them too, i let them pay every single MPP they have for RAI. They can hardly afford ground units.

-2nd target is hex next to elbow hex so i move along the coast...BF can harm you but they wont kill you. Fill the gap with a corps to minimize losses. A bit later you have only one corps exposed to ship attacks as Brussel and the hex nearby will be empty.

-never ever let your forward units without supply, move hq to support them, they will get airhits but at this stage you dont need to repair them just move the damaged ones back and the other HQ forward. Sometimes you have to reinforce them a bit.

-To move as many as poss AF´s in strike range of the AF next to london is also important as the allied player wont attack after interception as there is a fair chance that this AF will be killed.

-After securing the coast swing southwards, after taking ardennenwood you take the mine and if moved correctly you can cut off the hole maginot line with an army+tank

-If i feel that a breakthrough is important and would speed up my efforts i even risk to loose an AF.

-The hole HDO and DAI tactic only need average rolls to work.

-With an early breakthrough game is over for allies (in one of the games ag Zapp Paris was mine in November), if not you should get paris between end of july to october

-Through RAI bids came down so playing vs russia with below 200 Bid (1:5:30) is in an average game a joke for me.

Ok thats it - finally one hint - never ever play RAI against me. ;)
