Terif
Again Axis gambles and take the risk to operate everything but 5 units +Hg west in the second turn. Chances are good that Poland will hold longer than 4 turns, which means russian readiness would be increasing considerably.

zappsweden
April 1940: Axis are partly surrounding Paris. Germany has been quick in France this game. Axis can now fight away from the coast avoiding bombardments since Allied defence line collapsed. However, the costs are to be considered. Axis losses so far (not counting the Atlantic subs): 1 Sub 1 Cruiser 2 Corps 1 Army [ June 30, 2003, 01:47 PM: Message edited by: zappsweden ]
Terif
May 12, 1940: Most of the french forces waiting in England for their return. Therefore the line "collapsed" at the end very fast. 2 turns ago all armies were operating to ports . If Allies had stayed longer in France, losses had increased exponentially. Better to go at the right time. Only one french corps left in Paris. Bordeaux and Brest occupied by canadian units.

Liam
Question.. To occuppy Brest as Axis requires an Corps. That can be damaged very badly with air and Sea bombardment combo. Gives experience to the Allies and can even be destroyed. Although the Allies can just pick a different target to get the same experience and do similar damage. So is it worth occuppying the city or is it a waste in your opinions? There is also the possability of the Axis using a sub or two to strike make the South with air to remove a Brit Battleship or 2...

Terif
Liam: It depends on the stage of war and your strategy if it is worth to occupy Brest as Axis. Between France and Barbarossa (2-3 turns earlier) it is usually better to stay away and kill every allied unit that lands in Brest. But near Barbarossa it can be better to occupy Brest to make an early allied landing more difficult. But this depends on the situation.

Allies can bombard Brest pretty good, unless..., Axis has lots of air fleets in the area.
