According to http://www.bigtimesoftware.com/images/mgvsht.jpg the .50 cal will get the kill at about 400 meters. The Sd Kfz 251 has 11mm of frontal armor (can anyone confirm this and if it's face hardened). Check out this link for the penetration values of the .50 with AP ammo according FM 23-65.
