Peter Panzer
...could any of you fellows provide me with the addresses of some of your favorite/well documented resources for online photos of WWII infantry... ...although all nationalities are useful to me at this stage, i have been particularly hard-pressed to find examples of British and Canadian troops in action... many thanks, have at it... Michael Dorosh
If you're interested in uniform details, go to http//members.home.net/canuckmain/ There are some contemporary colour photos there as well. The site is very lean on "action shots" however. You could try and do a search for "The Horror and the Valour". They have a website set up and I think they have some ok pictures. The Australian War Memorial has an awesome site, though all the photos are watermarked - so you can view them, but not use them anywhere. The University of Virginia has a nice online archive, including some great shots of Canadian soldiers in Newport News about to embark for Europe, as well as a few dozen pics of German soldiers captured in North Africa upon arrival in Virginia, on their way to POW cages.
