minefields

Recommended Posts

when troops walk through a minefield and mines are set off, is that mine used up?

So, say there were 10 mines, and 2 went off, would there be 8 left, and therefore there is a lower chance of any oher troops getting hit?

Or are minefields "unlimited"?

I know antitank minefields have a limited number of mines, so AP fields are probably the same. I was playing a battle in which the only way the AI's halftracks could advance was along a mined road. After about 5 halftracks, the "achtung minen" flag disappeared, and there were no more mines exploding. Therefore, don't count entirely on mines to stop an enemy's advance, you also need to cover the mines with plenty of firepower.
