lloyd george
Every time I download a mod it automatically saves as a netscape.exe file, unzips itself, and then posts an error message "unable to locate file..." What am I doing wrong or what do I need to be able to download and install these great sounding mods? I love this game and want to improve it even more. Thanks, RS
Maximus
First of all, do you have Winzip installed? It sounds like your computer doesn't recognize the .zip extension. The files themselves are just .zip files in which you simply unzip them directly into the bmp folder or in seperate folders and manually copy over to the bmp folder. I suggest the latter as most mods come with a readme, optional textures, etc. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
Pvt. Ryan
It sounds to me like you have Smart Update running. That program will automatically try to install whatever you download. Disable Smart Update and then you can download and save the files wherever you want and unzip them to wherever you need to.
lloyd george
Thanks for your responses. Maximus, I had overlooked the obvious and did not have winzip. I had it on my last system and never realized I had not downloaded it on my new one. I just downloaded some mods and they worked (and looked) great.
