Schwarze
I am currently making a 5-7 mission map pack from 1941-1944 Leningrad. All missions are thoroughly researched and done mostly by myself (with help from Rommel22 aka Panzer Meyer). With luck, the pack will be released in January 04.
Sergei
Sounds good. What areas are they from? Btw. I would have a Finnish war-time map 1:20 000 that covers the centre and north-western suburbs of Leningrad, although I guess that's not very useful.
Schwarze
The scenarios are in order: Early Victories, Sep. 41, Utrisk area; Leningrad first encircled. Miracle at Tikhvin, Dec. 41, Tikhvin; Soviet counter offensive pushes back the 18th army. False Dawn, July 42, Novgorod Area; Destruction of the 2nd Shock army. Spark, Jan. 43, Marino/Schlisselburg area; Breaking the blockade. Model's Shield, Apr. 44, Luga Area; Retreat from Leningrad. Vyborg Offensive, June 44, Near Vyborg(Viipuri); Liberation of the Karelian Isthmus. (finnish operation for you sergei ) More scenarios may be added, it is estimated 2 will be operations the rest will be scenarios. Since there were no offensives near Viipuri (Vyborg) on August 1944, and because of the fact that areas around Viipuri, or Karelian Isthmus, have never been considered as "Northern Leningrad", this has to be the one you didn't research throughly, right? Keke
Originally posted by Schutzstaffel: Typo- June 44 Ok, sounds better. You will still offend any Finn player though if you call the area "Northern Leningrad"... What part of the Viipuri-operation you are going to model? Since 1944 battles between Finns and Soviets are a "forgotten war" I think you would need some serious help from Finnish friends here.
Sergei
Actually after 1940 the Soviets probably counted the Karelian Isthmus as part of the Leningrad Oblast (district) as they still do, so from their point of view it really was "northern Leningrad (district)".

Well I have to admit you are right. It still offends me though, lol.
Schwarze
If I offend any of my fellow players I will change it, I'm sorry. I'm using many old soviet maps and books and I'm naming towns and districts by the way the maps and books go by, any more tips will be welcomed. I (and Sergei) could supply some 1:20,000 pre-war topo maps.
