patboivin
I vaguely remember that the Germans at one point were producing vehicle fuel out of coal, and that this hasn't been reproduced since because the knowledge has been lost. Was there any truth to this, or is this just another rumour, like the water-based engine?
CavScout
The Germans did make a bit of synthetic oil but it isn't a lost art form.
Bruno Weiss
I guess start here, shale oil reserves are not envisioned the way they once were. http://www.fe.doe.gov/nposr/ ------------------ "Gentlemen, you may be sure that of the three courses open to the enemy, he will always choose the fourth." -Field Marshal Count Helmuth von Moltke, (1848-1916) [This message has been edited by Bruno Weiss (edited 01-30-2001).]
