Dressler
I always wanted a hasty tricolor cammo Panzer IV, so for my first attempt at a mod, I thought I'd take a stab at modifying Gordon's "Hasty HJ" version (with his permission of course) based on Fernando's mod. I haven't really done much other than add the rotbraun, tweak the turret numbers, and do a couple of other minor adjustments, but I thought I'd post it here for comments, criticism, suggestions, etc. Bear in mind, though, that it's a first attempt. Dressler
Seems to be showing now, at least for me. I did have to right click and then hit "show picture" once though. Dressler
Ok, I think I got it sorted. Damned Yahoo photos wouldn't allow it to be shared so I moved it. *If it won't show, here's the URL to the photo: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?selected=193879 [ March 19, 2003, 03:14 AM: Message edited by: Dressler ]
Dressler
One more shot from the rear.
Dressler
Hmmm, ok, I take it from that rousing round of indifference that it's "back to the drawing board". Oh well, it IS just a first attempt.
lcm1947
Very nice mod there Dressler. I like it and am heading over to get it right now. I also like the tricolor and glad you modded one for us. Thanks for thinking about us and your time.
lcm1947
Well here I was all ready to go get it but I think I'll wait until you post it somewhere or if you wouldn't mind you could email it to me. I really would like to have it. I personally think it looks very nice and would sure use it. Oh and what is a rotbraun?
Dressler
Thanks Lee. I haven't posted it for download quite yet. I'm still tweaking on it somewhat, I guess it's the anal model builder in me coming out. I can zip it and mail it to you though and you can test it if you'd like. Oh, rotbraun is German for "Red-Brown". That's another model builder quirk in me I guess.
mchlstrt
From what i can see you've got the rb about right. If you put on the '808' to might want to tone it down/blend it in a little, but that's the only thing I can see in a screenshot to pick on. strt
Dressler
Thanks for your feedback. For some reason, the 808 looks a little more stark in that screenshot than it actually does in game. I'll take a look at it though, and see if I can blend it in better. The redbrown was the result of a lot of trial and error. All my earlier efforts always looked too red or orange for my tastes.
lcm1947
Yes Dressler I would love to drive it around a bit and I'll sure get back with you if like the barrel or maybe a wheel falls off or something. Yeah please do email it to me if you would be so kind.
Dressler
Will do. I'll zip up the bmp's and shoot it out to you this evening.
von Khan
Is it CMMOS compatible?
Dressler
It is on my machine. I just write extra ruleset options on an existing tab on CMMOS (usually the generic one at the start of the row) and name the bmp's to fit it. I suppose I could write a separate ruleset and create a new tab, but I've avoided doing that out of fear that it might clash with some new official ruleset in the future.
Dressler
BTW, Village Photos has been having some tech problems, so the photo shows up sometimes and other times it doesn't.
