Guest rune
I was thinking it over, and I would like to create a scenario based ont he historical units and maps, of the last battle of Wittman. Does anyone have a good map of the area, or other information? Since it is still debated on who got the tank, I would like to set up the same circumstances and see what happens. I know there were typhoons in the area, as well as Canadian and Polish Units. Does anyone have good information so I can try to make this as real as I can. Thanks! Fan
Franko has done (and now re-done it seems) a scenario entitled August Bank Holiday that depicts the "Steel Cauldron" near Caen. Check the Scenario forum here.
Bil Hardenberger
Rune, Try to find Ken Tout's excellent book, "A Fine Night for Tanks : The Road to Falaise"... he speaks of this fight. Bil P.S. I had heard that there were in fact no AC in the immediate vicinity.. and I think it's been confirmed that one Canadien Firefly took out the entire Platoon. Guest Germanboy
Helge (aka Desertfox) has also done an excellent scenario based on this day. It is called 'Cintheaux Totalize', and may be available at Der Kessel. I have to check that. He worked from aerial maps and IGN 1:25,000, I believe. Moon would have the maps. ------------------ Andreas Der Kessel Home of „Die Sturmgruppe“; Scenario Design Group for Combat Mission.
