The Germans test bed for IR on tanks wad the Ausf.G Their are no records of any Ausf D's being fitted with the F.G.1250 IR system. Their was a book that claimed the Ausf D was fitted with IR & it even included a photo as evidence, later it was found out the photograph had been doctored w/o the authors knowledge.
